I managed to convince my manager to settle for less.
He wanted a drop down list in excel where you could select departments.
Now excel has a drop down, and that is even within my limited knowledge.
But with only one selection option, so I am already copying and pasting code without knowing what it precisely does.
Not a comfortable thought
So I went for the non technical solution.
"hey, this is hard. I need help or it is going to take long" "oh, and it will not add much"
And I got the expected answer. :)

I actually have done just that, and without any VBA... but it's a few years since I used Excel much and I don't even have it installed here

I usually avoid excel, but I am currently in an office where everybody seems to [ab]use it for any task they can think of.
