HP Printers + MS's Universal Driver for HP = It just works =]
HP has some issues in the past, their UPD wouldn't install correctly from a print server, so you had to stick with the MS driver. The current driver has fixed those issues, but I'm still leery of it.
We have a Kyocera copier that prints too. I can 100% recommend against getting anything made by Kyocera. They break, they're finicky like a 90s-era printer, the drivers are a horrific mess, different drivers for every model. The only "nice" thing about those pieces of crap are the multiple 3000-sheet trays.
Am I the only one who wants "Cloud Management" as far away from my critical infrastructure as humanly possible? I have zero desire to use one of those Meraki switches.
How long until someone hack's Meraki central and disables every Meraki switch... Or mirrors your internal traffic to a server in Russia or China.... Can't imaging the NSA doesn't have their fingers in that already.
@MarkHenderson Heh. Page fault in the SSH process as it sent me the output from the command, apparently. Crashed the ASA. I thought it was just a network blip that knocked my session offline, so I reconnected and ran it again (crashing the other ASA)
@mossy That's exactly the PC case I have, LOVE it - really good looking case, could do with a couple of mm of extra space behind the motherboard sheet for cables but it's not a problem, just needs a bit of planning. You planning on watercooling?
@Chopper3 I gave my HTPC/bedroom machine a refresh on the weekend, took everything out, dusted, new thermal paste. I was intending to do proper cable management but when the modular PSU went in it all went to hell D:

@freiheit Please. Not something I'm willing to do for free, and if I got paid, that would make it like the world's worst helldesk job, so I don't see me doing it then, either. Until SE does something to stem the tide of garbage, there's no point in cleaning it up piece by piece.
My coworkers were some of the most loyal and hardworking people I'd ever seen in an organization. This was true to a fault, in that most employees were not aware of their (tremendous) value on the open market. Im just building something to keep current. I play a lot of PC games and my current rig is about to burst into flames.
@mossy I had to have a year off ill and hadn't been near any IT for that time, when I came out of being ill (this was about last May or so) I decided to ease myself back by building a new gaming PC as I thought it was a kind of lowest-common-denominator - but wanted to make it hard - hence SLI/water-cooled/yet-in-a-smallish-enclosure

Apparently I don't fail my diplomacy throws all that often. One of the people I've disliked the most here came and gave me a box of chocolates and said it'd been nice to work with me.
@Chopper3 I did the one to get the DAO-10 shotgun, apart from that I've not really been trying. I used the DAO-10 for a few rounds last night...shit's brutal. Not as bad as the MK3A1 from BF3 though. Using that in Metro was evil. Hilarious, and evil.
@Chopper3 yeah, I've played with a few but I prefer the ACS 52 CQB. Saying that I picked up an AEK from someone I killed...damn, that fires quickly. the BF4 FAMAS isn't as good as the BF3 one too.
@Chopper3 a couple of times I've seen the red light coming towards me and led down at the last second - more often than not you survive (but it kills the person behind you).
@tombull89 Oh I like that HP thing - presumably you can just move/hide the camera and use a normal keyboard as required? but yeah, that's the kind of innovation I expect out of apple tbh, might get a demo one in :)

I have a failing drive on my ESXi 4 host and I'm going to replace it. There is no fault tolerance (RAID), each drive on its own.
I'm planning do offline dding old drive to new one but I'm not sure this will work. Will ESXi properly recognize the cloned new drive or will fail because drive's seria...

I feel sheepish asking this. I have a sister company that wants to provide their Windows users with remote desktop from home...where they remote into their individual workstations from their home/personal computers. Instead of VPN, and instead of opening port 3389...isn't there a tech that allows for this from MS already?
@HopelessN00b sort of....that's what I was thinking originally, but typically that's for domain joined computers traveling. I was thinking more of something that allowed them to open up an RDP session "on the fly".
@HopelessN00b yeah, I can put in a true VPN, but my mind swears I'm forgetting something similar to Remote Web Services that MS has that allows for something like this.
@TheCleaner I don't think there's anything that'll do exactly that for client machines...unless you want to deploy one of those bloody remote access apps... but I fail to see the advantage of that over RDP.
@TheCleaner I don't think that's gonna let them log into their workstations, though... is it? When I looked into that, my understanding was you could only target servers for login with it.
