@Yisela Oh hey. Now that you mention it, I recall talk of this. To be honest, I don't know what the status of that is... my best guess at the moment is that no actual work on that happened (we have one designer and he's pretty overworked right now), but I will check tomorrow and see what's what. — Anna Lear18 mins ago
I see a few sites that are in meta or live that have their own custom and tailored look. Since this is a creative community I was wondering if we would be allowed to customize or re-design our site to be more appealing and creative in nature. How are other boards allowed to be different?
Is there any professional mac software that i can use to replace some of the adobe software (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)?
i don’t mean one that replaces all but the equivalent of each one.
@Matt_2.0 Hello. Nothing much :) I was actually just supposed to read the transcript, I do that occasionally... This time I accidentally entered the chat, DOH! :)
I'm trying to look for some who knows javascript and jquery to help with ym jquery plugin projects... I always start my projects furiously, but then I start new projects without completing the old ones. i just need someone to keep me in check. Writing documentation is kind of a kryptonite for me, actually :p
To answer your prior question, or part of it, this is one of my projects: togglebox.joonas.me/index.php Might not work perfectly, but should work ok :)
I'm trying to find examples of one of my oldest and biggest projects, but I can only find broken html files
Here we go :D There has been tons of changes, but it does demonstrate what it is about: joonas.me/_1/sic-old-backup-2/sic.html SIC stands for "Simple image caption"
I started this project when I think jquery was about version 1.2 or 1.3 and I didn't know any jquery at that point and very limited javascript
My javascript abilities were basically just enough so that I can make photoshop scripts
The main point is, this project has taught me a lot :)
Some of those captions aren't working, I just noticed..
I know I have more recent example somewhere, but I can't remember where :)
I don't really need that much help as far as writing the code goes, in a sense, but I need someone to keep me going, otherwise I just end up starting new projects before finishing the old one... It's definitely a curse in our family :D
I'm very strict in that sense, I would never make something that only works in one browser, unless it's a hack to fix some strange behavior in one browser :)
I haven't used wordpress in a while, especially after they made the templates all html5 and stuff...
the templates were kinda full already, and now it's like walking in a room where the floor is full of stuff, just kinda trying to find your way through it all...
I am too but I weigh the factor of what their profile is and the type of question.
His/her experience shows they are an active member on stack and if he asked a question like that on stackexchange in no time would it have 4 down votes and a closure
For me, I'll close a question immediately if it is blatantly off topic. But I would rather work with the user to try and improve it than shut the door in their face straight away
I pretty much visit several times a day.. I used to have something like.... I don't know.. year of consecutive visits, but then I got super I'll at some point and couldn't visit for one or few days..
I have no coding books, only some inspirational books for drawing / painting... I'm more BIG pictures kind of guy, rather than ...reading stuff kind of guy
@JohnB I'm sort of all around graphic designer in a small company. Quite a lot of print stuff. I'm most fluent in photoshop, but at work I use adobe software this order: Illustrator, indesign, photoshop
Like a lot of people, my personal projects exist to fill some hole that I can't fill at work... To be creative on my own terms. This project has a lot to do with filling some sort of photoshop void: github.com/joonaspaakko/Image-Framer-jquery-plugin
I'm rather mellow yellow when it comes to stressing about stuff, especially work.. I love work, I'm a work-a-holic... I do stress about my personal projects a bit.. Like: "I haven't finished this yet, I'm such a bad person..."
