hi all! there is a new SE site, "Open Source". Since they are new and we have a couple of open source questions, should we migrate a few of them in support?

@Yisela morning. Which questions are you thinking for migration? And do we even migrate to beta websites?

1:21 PM
hey all

morning

we have the tag

opensource.stackexchange.com/tour leads me to believe most of our questions are off-topic at their exchange anyways

hm, they don't really have an on-topic definition posted anywhere
...that I can find

Hey guys I'm back for a critique on another car ad design
My creative director says she doesnt think grunges are really used much anymore, that maybe my grunge in the fonts is a bit much. Not fully sure that I understand that, maybe some outside advice would be useful here.
For one, I would say the piece could do with more space around the edges.

Q: How to read trim dimensions (115 3/8”w x 38”h)?

Imran BughioI have been given these dimensions: 115 3/8”w x 38”h for a print banner but I don't quite understand what it means! i.e: what is the width & height of the canvas I should work on?

@ImranBughio morning, how are you?

@Ryan I am fine, how are you?

(updated my design above according to my thought on edge padding)

@MediaWebDev I don't mind it. If I were to make any changes it would be to make WHERE THE DEALS ARE REAL a bit larger and/or bolder. The red, white and blue tire background a bit less imposing (either darker or lighten opacity I imagine), and then I'd remove the two road signs... the one on the left particularly is a bit distracting.
But the "grunge" doesn't look bad to me :\ of course I'm not the client!
@ImranBughio I'm good. Just commented on your question, don't quite get what you're asking

2:18 PM
@Ryan yep replied

@Ryan Ok, I took all of your advice how about this?
Photoshop spot healing brush tool OP btw
2-click sign removal.

@MediaWebDev looks good to me... but again I'm not the client. If they don't like the grunge look than I'm not sure they're going to like this

Not the client, My creative director with that advice on the grunge
She's a new grad. into the new clean simple stuff they're teaching in college this year. I like that stuff too, but I feel like grunge still has a place in modern design.

@JohnB Do you know how to implement your script on a wordpress page? Got it all working on my localhost and all of my PHP/MySQL stuff finalized. Just need to integrate it now

5:35 PM
I haven't touched WP in a while, sorry

@JohnB no reason to apologize. Thanks anyways! That code really helped a lot

glad I could help
