@joojaa no offense taken :) Still rather sure the answer is zero, tho.

1:53 PM
Well this would be quite a feat graphicdesign.stackexchange.com/q/41303/8708

in Ai, let alone in Ps
and: goeiedag, JohnB :)

hoi

ready for weekend?

oh yeah, I think most of it will be spent in virtual reality
tried Virtual Desktop last night, really awesome. It will be much more awesome with a higher resolution VR display

eh, as in your regular Win desktop, but then on your Oculus?

2:00 PM
yeah, with a curved size adjustable screen
that + Netflix = heaven

oh wow
images seeing Avengers on an OR

makes it feel like you're watching it on a gigantic screen :)

you'll be at work next Monday with sore ears from the weight :P

hehe

already plans for what to watch?

2:12 PM
I've been watching The West Wing, finally on the last season. So many episodes
But I'll probably spend more time playing games, Half-Life 2, Assetto Corsa, Euro Truck Simulator
played a tiny bit of HL2 last night, it was great. So cool to re-experience it in a different way

ah, sounds good

gotta find my gamepad though, keyboard + mouse doesn't feel like the optimal controller setup

won't it seem weird to be sitting down, but experience an environment where you stand or walk around?

I keep thinking it should be like that, but you just kind of forget about it

next acquisition: all-direction treadmill :P

2:18 PM
they have those, don't tempt me...

seriously?

but then gaming, esp FPS'ing would be more about perspiration than relaxation
:O

...charming

2:20 PM
haha
I do want motion sensing controllers. Unfortunately there is no easy way to get them right now

I'll stick with my PSP for a little longer
what'll those do?

Kinda like the Wii controller. Razer made some but no longer manufactures them, so you have to pay a high price for pre-owned

ah, essentially a gyroscope and locator for what you are carrying?

yeah

funny. I remember VR being all the hots around '88, '89. Weird that it took so long to actually get off the ground
and yeah, I'm old.

2:25 PM
I was born in 88, that probably doesn't make you feel younger

argh
ah well, the alternative ain't too sweet, so I'll quit complaining :)
but seriously, they were constructing 'VR caves' back then. It's just that the hardware was way more clunky, not to mention the software

this is the only other VR I've ever tried:

lol, that looks... wonky
and very 80s
How come, by the way, that you have so many Dutch-speaking friends? Is there an originally Dutch enclave near your place?

2:46 PM
random chance, internet people I play games with
Dutch people seem to multiply, where there is one a few more are hiding as well

hehe, funny.
the cockroaches of the internet

3:06 PM
Ah nice, I write an elaborate answer to a Q and @Scott closes the thing right under my nose before I even finish :P

I bet he closed in favor of a question that he answered as well.... squelching the little guy so he can get more rep! abuse!!

Now, that's not nice... and no @JohnB I did not. Actually one Matt answered. :)

oh so now it's a voting ring

Hi @Scott. I'm not sure, since the original Q was unclear at best, but I dsagree with the dupe

two power users involved...

3:10 PM
Question was really how to get the original pattern tile so I can use in in CSS?
You can vote to reopen @Vincent
Just looks to me like he wants the tile his arrow is pointing to.

from what I read, the OP didn't have the pattern available, but I'm unsure
nah, you might be right. I'd like to wait for them to chip in before I do.

Nah.. language thing from what I read. "Its Not in Photoshop" I took to mean "It's not a standard pattern which ships with Photoshop."

...then I mangled the Q beyond recognition
'Vincent the Butcher'. sounds ok, no?
How are you, @Scott?

I'm okay. Got a new kitten Monday... and been working (a bit).. difficult lately due to the overcast and rainy days here... makes me feel like just not doing anything. :) You?

A new kitten! Congrats :D
I've been taking a bit of a break, taking things slow at work. Feels good.

3:14 PM
Thanks. Doesn't make up for the cat I lost, but at least the hosue doesn't seem as empty now.
I love being able to take things slow :)

Yesterday, I foudn myself doodling in Ai for the first time since... months. That was quite the winner :)
And today I was asked to prepare for designing and lay-outing a glossy magazine.
yeah, does the autumn affect you?

Yeah I get the seasonal thing when it goes too many days without ANY sunshine. It's hit or miss here. Some years it's grey from October till March. Others it's not.
So far.. this looks like a grey winter :)

stupid question I know, but what kind of cat?

hm, autumns has only started for reals here just this week. We broke some temperature records for October.

I do that too.. go long periods without doodling... then get a spurt of inspiration and start spitting out AI stuff one after the other.

3:18 PM
not that I know any cat breeds beyond siamese and tuxedo and ... orange

It's a mutt @JohnB Best I can tell a Russian Blue with some Tabby or Rex mixed in.

cool :)

She's a talker though.

I love cats that talk a lot, never gets annoying to me

hehe, that suggests some Asian lineage

3:19 PM
Russian Blues are a lot like Siamese just different color. Head shape is real similar and personalities can be just as bold as Siamese.

ours have some of that as well. It's cute as hell unless they wake you up in the morning, yammering for food and attention
oh, you're right. never looked at them that way
How old's she?

at jsut 8 weeks this kitten is smart.. so far not a single accident on a rug anywhere.
If I point to the litter box.. she uses it.

ah, nice. yeah, they usually are house-trained by that age

First night she slept with me.. I got up, put her in the box, she used it. Sencond night I jsut pointed at the box...
She just now getting settled enough to go exploring on her own. She's been attached at my hip most of the week.

you work from home, right?

3:23 PM
yeah

ah, that makes sense then. We had to leave ours alone for entire days at 10 weeks old. They managed surprisingly well

She's only been alone for a few hours during the week. Had the vet appointment Wedsnday, which she oddly loved -- all the excitement.

vet appointment? for her shots?

yeah first round

I got yelled at by my cat this morning. I there are a couple water dishes for him around, but he prefers the one in my room for some reason. I slept with the door closed last night and when I woke up he took me to task about how that was uncalled for and to never do that again because that one is his favorite and the other (fully stocked) water bowl just isn't good enough

3:26 PM
She apparently came from a pretty unclean environment

ours are up for their... de-manning next Monday

yeah I got to wait 6 months for that
or I guess 4 more

@JohnB lol, sounds like Simon's cat :)

My old cat was liek that John... very demanding if you took away something she wanted

he's the boss

3:48 PM
I'm gonna wish you all a good weekend, fellow cat-owners

later!

Q: Are questions about specific fonts allowed?

SupuhstarI was about to ask a question about whether Marcellus is serif or sans-serif, or something else altogether. However, I don't know if that'll be on-topic for being too specific to a font and veering too far from general graphic design. Is it on-topic to ask questions about a specific font?
