@BESW I'm assuming your troubleshooter is dead... Service firm, secret society & Mutation?

My cat has chosen a plush 20 sided die as his favorite toy. I am well pleased.

Ooh, that was a pretty decent earthquake just now.

I'm very surprised to learn that there are only 15 Land Before Time sequels.

10:02 AM
lol
I am honestly mildly surprised they managed to keep it going so long

@rdgresident @sydneypadua There are computer banks at Cape Canaveral from the early 60s with built-in ashtrays.

11:49 AM
@BESW now that was some savvy design.

I'm reminded of the rumour at my college that a campus network failure was the result of someone sticking a joint in a server and forgetting it.

lulz
my colleague in an IT department considered the main server as the best place to store warm pizza
apparently it's a widespread pratice

...there's a film inspired by the Mutant Chronicles RPG. It's got Thomas Jane, Ron Perlman, Sean Pertwee, and John Malkovich. It's set in the 28th century during a steam-powered nation-corp version of WWI, with a 10,000 year-old alien machine that makes mutants. Rotten Tomatoes puts it at 18% and says the special effects are horrible.
I must see it.

12:07 PM
@BESW What's it called?

Mutant Chronicles, of course.
I stumbled onto it looking for other things Thomas Jane's been in, since everyone's talking about his role in The Expanse.

Request for reading/viewing recommendations: supernatural fiction set in contemporary Hollywood.

Miniman left chat, and out of the corner of my eye I thought the avatar leaving animation was a moth crawling across my screen.

Anyone here have a DDI account? This answer could use a DDI link:

A: Feat that gives your melee attack range?

TijnkwanI have searched the compendium and I think you were looking at the Farslayer Weapon: As you swing this weapon through the air, wounds magically appear on enemies beyond your normal reach. […] Power (Standard Action): Make a melee basic attack with this weapon against a target up to ...

7:30 PM
I will add that @SevenSidedDie

@Tijnkwan Thank you. :)

Should I add that it is available from lvl 13?
Quote:"Currently heroic level (8th), and since I didn't take it (I remember thinking I'd have to get it) I'm guessing it's Paragon or something?"
@SevenSidedDie what do you think?

@Tijnkwan Nah, that's the kind of thing that someone who has legit access to the books/DDI can easily look up, and isn't necessary to answer the question. I actually had to remove a bunch of material from the answer because it just copy-pasted the whole thing originally. :/
But yeah, that looks good.

Yeah I noticed xD. It was quite the coincidence I found that weapon. I opened my browser and a bunch of old questions I wanted to read openend. I searched the compendium for:"Wounds appear" and there it was.
@SevenSidedDie should I add the source book? (adventurer's vault)

@Tijnkwan Yeah, that'd be useful.

7:51 PM
@SevenSidedDie sorry for the questions, I have been here a long time but I haven't really been very active in the answering department.

@Tijnkwan Hey, no, it's my pleasure. No need to apologise for a desire to learn best practices!

@BESW that's an awesome concept btw :D

Hey @doppelgreener, @trogdor, did we say where we were going to settle the dwarven refugees?
It would be very useful if I could plop them into the California/Nevada deserts without disrupting our continuity too much.

@BESW it helps that there historically has been a fair bit of mining in that neck of the woods

Yeah, though these dwarves are seeking refuge from terrifying things underground that threaten their civilisation.
So going back underground might not be the most comfortable choice for them right away.

@BESW ah. I believe most of the mining there's open-pit, even...

9:40 PM
@BESW I don't think we have settled them anywhere in particular
so I think you could go ahead with that

9:55 PM
@Shalvenay That might work.
Mostly I want to have them somewhere nearish to Hollywood and Colma, for plot reasons.

@BESW ...Colma?

@Shalvenay Colma is the San Francisco necropolis.

@BESW ah.

2 hours later…
11:38 PM
@BESW Go with that :)
@BESW I did not even know things like this existed. But now I am amused:
> With most of Colma's land dedicated to cemeteries, the population of the dead outnumbers the living by over a thousand to one. This has led to Colma's being called "the City of the Silent" and has given rise to a humorous motto, now recorded on the city's website: "It's great to be alive in Colma."
