A: How fast would someone have to run to travel vertically up a wall?

JimAssuming you could get traction against the wall, you could run or walk up it at any speed. However, the problem is that for the large majority of circumstances, you cannot get traction against a vertical wall. The reason we can walk across the ground is because gravity pushes us downwards. This...

> Not to mention that to go really high would require you to run at the wall so fast that you'd splat when you jumped at it to start running up (splatting is bad, just fyi).

Q: What if I delete the full Registry?

SkYWAGzI've been wondering what would happen if I delete all the registry stuff. Would my pc stop working? Batch code: reg delete HKCC /va /f reg delete HKLM /va /f reg delete HKCR /va /f reg delete HKCU /va /f reg delete HKU /va /f

ow

Looks like RA got visitors overnight

Bob

Not too suprised, google loves protobuf

5:13 AM
wtf protobuf converts fixed32 to int in Java

Bob

@HackToHell annnnnd?

Bob
6:23 AM
@Xander, it's rather more a physics thing: if you throw a modem off a sufficiently tall building, you can find its terminal velocity. — Mark 2 hours ago

6:46 AM
@Bob you loose the data after decimal points
Bleh fixed32 in golang is different
nvm

@HackToHell wtf CSO

@Bob me thinks stats are wrong ;p
Bleh my teachers are fucking stupid
They want me to use VB and Oracle SQL to write a frontend
And I'll have to do in Visual Basic 6 IDE
which is fucking crap
Shit was released 23 years ago
And we have to use learn Oracle SQL cause that's what the stupid sysadmin knows to install -_-
Fuck my college

Bob
1:09 PM
o.O

1:34 PM
@hack we used it too.
Though weirdly the dB forensics class used an older version of ms sql

1:48 PM
@JourneymanGeek vb or oracle sql ?

2:01 PM
Oracle SQL. I didn't have any coding class

It isn't too bad, the only problem is i can't try things out from home

Yeah.Mysql or postgres is so much better there

8:32 PM
@JourneymanGeek !!define specious
!!wiki specious

Reeeeally clarifying.
What does google say?
> 1. Having the ring of truth or plausibility but actually fallacious: a specious argument.
2. Deceptively attractive.
Hmmm
So I am either fallacious or deceptively attractive. I prefer chosing the latter.

Heya all, just popping in for a bit

Hey there

I've been dealing with more computer problems (parents' desktops, laptops and tablets) than I'd like over the course of this weekend. I'm all SuperUsered out, and I haven't even visited SU.com!

lol then I'll troubleshoot silently for now ;)
holy shit I might have fixed it (kind of)
More testing needs to be done
I disabled the unused wireless band on my network adapter and pings to the router seem significantly more consistent and whatnot
Real world testing / extended use to see if the problem has disappeared is needed though

10:23 PM
good call

I think the Roku might be causing problems on the 2.4ghz band
It's uses this WiFi direct stuff for the remote
on inssider the 5ghz band looks super duper stable but then I had a problem with my PC and my wife didn't... replugging my adapter solved the problem
So maybe something at the adapter level is being disrupted by the interference and not actually a lot of interference in the signal itself
Just watching the pings I'm pretty optimistic but we'll see what happens.... since its always been an intermittent problem who knows really
Additionally I double checked with the wife on when we got the Roku and she confirmed sometime in August
The timing is about right considering I really started to notice very early september

Bob
Windows ruins everything? No. Commons.IO is the one that fucked up there. Or your usage of it.

10:45 PM
You're preaching to the choir man... When people say they hate something and out of genuine curiosity I ask why, what happened, etc... and then I suggest maybe they were taking the wrong approach they get super defensive and I get labeled as a fanboy, etc.
Needless to say, people suck.

@SpartanDonut reminds me of the crusade against Java and Mono.

Haha
But seriously... clean your inputs

1 hour later…

Has gravatar stopped working with SU / SE?
