@LeeWoofenden Some time ago we were discussing eschatology. I mentioned that I believed that the destroying fire would purify the righteous like silver and gold are purified in the refiners fire but couldn't find the reference. It's Zechariah 13:7-9

Those are good too. I think Zechariah is direct. So, I suppose that after the judgement, all will be subjected to the fire. What is corruptable will perish, then all will be made new. All separation will cease.
I dislike Swedenborg's Heaven. It seems cartoonish. I'm picturing my neighbor mowing his lawn, with horns and bat wings waving as I walk past unaware that everyone can tell he's faking it.

@lee those 2 articles are brilliant.

@LeeWoofenden what are some of your blog posts about the afterlife?

@LeeWoofenden I was thinking of "the world of spirits"
"But everything around us looks pretty much the same, so we put it out of our mind and go about our daily business. We get up and go to work, go home, eat, relax in front of the TV or at the computer, and head to bed when we’re tired."
"Step by step, any outer masks that we had worn on earth, any false external personas, melt away from us, and our true self is exposed."
"Even our physical appearance will change so that our very features express our inner character. That is why angels appear so beautiful, while devils appear so hideous."
Thus, devilish neighbor mowing the lawn.

@Andrew By the time he starts growing horns and bat wings, he will no longer be your neighbor. At least, I hope he won't. :-P Besides, it’s only at a distance that evil spirits appear like hideous beasts. Close up they look like human beings--even if perhaps rather ugly ones.
