Q: Where is the dead body in Luke 17?

WikisJesus talks about the coming of the Kingdom of God in Luke 17:20-37. This passage raises four related questions for me: Is this talking about the Rapture? Where is "a dead body", that Jesus mentions at the end? Who are the vultures? Those taken? Is this talking about a world wide event? That on...

It was the Reverend Green.

Sorry, but that question title just made me giggle. Perhaps I read too much detective fiction. The question itself is good, and got a +1 from me.

@TRiG I see your point about Joseph Smith in the Jonah question.
I just was a little afraid that people wouldn't consider the question as relevant as it is.
From the Protestant perspective, which I ask for, the test of a prophet might not seem very important at first glance but in the end it is.

@dancek Well, I'm not an expert on the best way to ask questions on this site. That's just the thought that occurred to me at the time.

Q: Did Jonah fail the test of a prophet?

dancekI came across an article on the FAIR Mormon wiki that discusses the prophetic test (Deut. 18) in relation to Joseph Smith. For a question on the same topic on Christianity.SE, see Does Joseph Smith fail the test of a prophet? The thing that strikes me as interesting is that the article gives Bib...

I was kind of uncertain myself, but kinda wanted to keep that part too.
So I thought bringing it up on chat might get some insight now.

@dancek I think you can validly ask "Does Jonah fail the prophet test" and get a good answer. w/o bringing Joseph Smith into it. Although potentially "How do Mormons reconcile the prophecy test and Joseph Smith's work?" could be on topic as well. I don't know enough about the subject to comment

Q: Does Joseph Smith fail the test of a prophet?

Jonathon ByrdThe test of a prophet. Deuteronomy 18 NKJV 21 And if you say in your heart, ‘How shall we know the word which the LORD has not spoken?’— 22 when a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD has not spoken; ...

Yes... That was a giant flaimbate...

@Richard yet an important question, IMO
actually I dislike how some difficult questions have been toned down

The problem is that for every point there will be a counter-point.

Q: What evidence is there that Jesus died on the cross?

RayInspired by How long was Jesus in the tomb?, the question could be reasonably raised "if Jesus was only in the tomb for a day and a half, can we be sure that he really died, or were the witnesses mistaken?" I'm looking not simply for biblical assertions by the biblical authors that Jesus died on...

If that question hadn't fallen into the dusty back-corner of the site, it would've been closed as off-topic and inflammatory.

like this, I think the question is important but it got downvoted and closed
I removed the references to Joseph Smith from my question, but kept the link to the FAIR Mormon article.

@dancek Looks good to me.
