@MattGutting I just read this answer on SF.SE and figured I'd ask you as a Catholic and a Tolkien fan: in Tolkien's conception (and broader Catholicism) are some people considered "inherently good" and others "inherently bad"? I'll consider asking a main-site question if you deem it necessary.
