@Bye - the Law is not a means of salvation but a way to point out our sin. (Romans 8:3) Now I think about it, I don't think the Law was ever intended to bring us salvation because it can't. There's only Grace - Amazing as it is.

Q: What does the Bible say? Questions

curiousdanniiWhat does the Bible say about Capital Punishment? Prompted from that question, would it be appropriate to tag these kinds of questions with biblical-basis? Or perhaps reference-request? Or would another tag be better? (See also this old discussion. I thought a new one would be valuable consider...

@Wikis yeah, I'd agree with that
there's a lot that seems to point to that even right from the beginning too
since the OT speaks of a Messiah

3:03 PM
@AJHenderson yeah, I think all along God knew we wouldn't make it...

3:18 PM
@Wikis I would go even further to argue that the entire point of the law was to show US that we couldn't make it

@AJHenderson yes, and I think the apostle Paul would agree with you Romans 3:19-20.
@DavidStratton: what can I say except sorry but I'm pretty passionate about the Power Rangers...

@Wikis I've actually further extended that view to the whole of Israel. I think that the entire point of Israel may have been a giant object lesson that even chosen by God, setup with the best resources and blessings, allowed to kill off anyone who might cause them to stray, they were still unable to live up to the law.
literally, stacking the deck entirely in their favor

@AJHenderson. I agree. More than that: the whole OT or maybe Bible is proving we cannot live without good. Would eugenics / perfect genes work? No, tried that with Adam & Eve. Ok, how about starting again with one really good guy? Nope, Noah. OK, God telling you everything you need to do. Nope, Israel (as you mentioned). And then the kings, judges, prophets... It's all to show us that we cannot solve the problem of sin.
"Without good" should read "without God"

@curiousdannii I've only ever seen in in Baptist Churches.

@TRiG it is slightly creepy that I can't even identify how most of the words are related to English in the first one

8:31 PM
@AJHenderson I find the Lord's Prayer easier.
