@Eagel Depends what you mean by "connected." What connection do you want to make?
@Eagel I didn't mean to cast any aspersions. If you're able to write good English prose, then by all means go for it, if that's what you want to do. Personally, if I tried to write in any other language besides English, it would be a total mess.

12:52 AM
@Eagel Do you mean a state church? Please proof read your posts! They are filled with typos.
@Eagel No. However many denominations are inaugurated or supported by acts of parliament: Anglican, Catholic, Presbyterian, Baptists, Methodists, Uniting, and I was surprised to see, Christian Science. I wonder if this is because of the legal complexities of having the property being centrally owned while each congregation has its own set of offices (president, secretary and treasurer.)
@Flimzy Some are smart and well reasoned people, but on the whole, it's a bewildering philosophy to most Australians. The idea that our economy will be better off with minimal regulation? No thanks. We'll keep our well regulated banking industry that went through the GFC essentially untouched.
I cannot understand Christian libertarians who say that taxation is theft, or who fight against better health care. Taxation is (IMO) clearly supported by scripture. And while I understand that some Christians would prefer we support each other in our communities rather than turn to the government, it is a loving Christian attitude to be happy to part with some of our money to taxes to support those who are not in our communities, especially the socially outcast with no support structures.
And without a government health care system and the economy of scale and bargaining power the brings, it just isn't affordable. The US already pays more per person for its health care than many other western countries. You might as well have a system that actually covers everyone. That's the strangest thing of all.

@curiousdannii So I guess you're saying that Libertarians in general are nutjobs, so by extension, Christian Libertarians are also nutjobs. Not that Christian Libertarians are some special blend of nutjob?

7:50 AM
@Flimzy Hmm, not exactly. In themselves small government or even complete political anarchy are cohesive ideologies. Not ones I agree with or think are helpful for society, but ones I can to an extent respect. It's the Christian Evangelical who holds to such positions while thinking that they are also upholding the teachings and morals of the Bible who is especially crazy IMO.
Just like I can respect anyone who wants to vote for a particular party, but I can't respect anyone who thinks their party is the one God-ordained party or solution to all the world's woes

8:32 AM
@curiousdannii Saying like in some countrys you have a "state church" The Gouverment support the church with money, because it is written in the law,and so much stuff in general is in contact with the church like Funerals and stuff. But then the Gouverment wants to have a say when they want a new Bishop and stuff. They just don`t pay the church and let them do there stuff.
Like they would say to the church, you have to have more female priests, more equal structure,if we are to support the church.

8:48 AM
@curiousdannii The other Questions here.About Libertarians.IN scandinavia The gouverment pays for almost everything. But if you want any money you need to follow some rules. When it comes to healthcare in the USA,you can go to the cancer doctor if you think you have that, right away Or any other doctor. In many "healthcare system countrys" where they pay everything for you.A doctor has to decide for you if you can go to a cancer doctor or any other doctor.
So I think the gouverment should cover only people that are very poor.So there is more freedom in the system. And in College it is complicated, how can you let the gouverment pay and still keep it free from there mindset. But you cant have a prison, that some rich man/woman is making there money of.Then you wont have justice. So I support healthcare cover for the very poor, but give them enough money,A health account,so they can go to the doctor they want. And the same for College.

@curiousdannii So you don't like Republicans, either? :P

9:07 AM
@Flimzy There is a problem for Republicans.Because It would be great if we could take care of each other, thats biblical.Where all a big fam.helping each other,we would have a very warm and understanding country. But we dont,no country is like that. You might have a fam.thats very good at taking care of people and maybe a church, but not in general. What then about all the other people,no one is helping and they do not want Gods help and do not have faith in God.What about them?

Q: What is the result of flagging a comment?

Jon the ArchitectI was reading through some comments today and while trying to click a link in one, managed to inadvertently flag it. This caused me to wonder what this does or means. Apparently clicking it again does not toggle off the flag but flags it again. Is there no way to undo an inadvertent one?

@Eagel you are using backticks (`) instead of apostrophe (') which is messing up the formatting of your chat messages
the backticks are for monospace text aka code so "`code`" produces "code" — do you see the difference?
it's actually not that obvious on my screen except that all your "can't" and "that's" are missing apostrophes :)

@JackDouglas oh,I did not see that ```.need to find the right one on the keyboard..Cant find it..

@Eagel probably just to the left of the Enter key
rather than the backspace key

Just made my first blog post, gotta change everything! Because of'''''''''''''
well not everything

@curiousdannii Usually people who discuss politics argue over things like universal health care, the top marginal tax rate, whether or not XYZ historical event supports their ideology, and the true meaning of Romans 13. Those are good questions, especially the last one, but if you disagree on what the State actually is, in my experience the discussion is simply a waste of time. To me, discussion of the premise is much more interesting.

@Eagel probably fine in a blog post, it's the markdown rules here that are messing you up

@JackDouglas I got to eat something, tierd, just had a major change in my theology, blessing but you become tierd.I will have an english breakfast with bacon, egges, toast

@Eagel good plan. when you aren't tired, I'd love to know what the major change was :)

@JackDouglas Very complicated, very spiritual. It has to do with things going on in the spiritual world. If you are up for that ?
Haha I guess you don't know what to answer

1:46 PM
@Nathaniel There are many debates to be had over how our governments should govern, but it's another to begrudge the existence of the government, which is how some Christians sound to me at times

2:17 PM
@curiousdannii Shoot me an email if you want (see my profile), and I'll send you something that lays out a defense of this while clearly expressing my premises. You'll probably find it at least a tad crazy, but perhaps helpful nonetheless. And the analysis of an unsympathetic eye will likely be helpful to me as well.

@Eagel nah, just got distracted :)
@Eagel might help to know what you mean by 'spiritual world' first though…

2:45 PM
@JackDouglas By the way could I ask you for a prayer request?I you like to pray?
