@curiousdannii are you quoting me or something else? :)
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. "For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. "Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? "Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' and behold, the log is in your own eye? "You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye. (Matthew 7:1-5)

@TRiG Again with the "white evangelical Christendom". I'm still trying to understand that as different than just evangelical.

@fredsbend As a cultural identifier, it's pretty significant. By all accounts, many churches are still very racially segregated.
@DanAndrews The cross is very idle. It just sits there and does nothing.

4:09 PM
@DanAndrews Also relevant: "Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment" (John 7:24). Clearly Jesus did not mean that we should never judge anyone or anything.
@TRiG Looks like TRiG can unleash snark at times, too . . . :-P

@TRiG I really did lol. Thanks for the laugh.
I actually didn't even notice in Dan's message when I first read it.
@TRiG I know there probably is, but I'm not sure it has as much to do with race as it does with other things.

@LeeWoofenden I agree to an extent. I believe Matthew is more about being hypocritical in in your judgement. For example, don't complain about my tattoo if you smoke cigarettes. Don't complain about my profanity while you have lustful thoughts for my wife (ok, that dress was a little tight, but come on!) / or another women / wife / etc
Almost all Christians I know, which includes pastors / clergy, are hypocritical in their judgement of others. "Love one another" is something that is taken less seriously.

EricI am working on a paper for one my classes and I routinely run into the question of whether or not jewish individuals believe in view Satan in the same way Christians do. More specifically, are the Serpent, Lucifer, and Ha-Satan the same Satan as seen in Christianity. Several questions have add...

Q: The Queen James Bible: is it scholarship; is it good scholarship?

MATHEMATICIANThe queen james bible is according to this HP article, an attempt to erase textural ambiguity. The website explains that "homosexuality was first overtly mentioned in the Bible in 1946 in the Revised Standard Version. There is no mention of or reference to homosexuality in any Bible prior...

@DanAndrews So unless you're sinless you can never ever point out the slightest bit of sin in someone else's life?
