Q: Luke 16: Why would all the dogs have the same name?

LCIII Luke 16:19-21 KJV There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: mor...

I must know the answers

@LCIII Will you be doing a follow up on "what exactly do sores taste like?" - I'm sure this passage is a gold-mine of fascinating questions just waiting to be posted...

The future of the western church depends on it
I might start a bounty

@LCIII I'm glad someone as dedicated to sniffing out the truth as yourself is on the case!

It's my spiritual gift
sniffing out the truth

@LCIII I'm guessing that's one of the motivational gifts?

2:03 PM
@bruisedreed I feel like this question is a hilarious loophole to the rigid and confusing (yet good) standards of this site.
I'm hoping to get a super serious and hilariously loophole-ish answer. Hopefully it doesn't get knifed. It gave me some chuckles.
Dahhhh! It got knifed. Oh well.
I guess I'll never know why they were named moreover

@LCIII Pats on shoulder consolingly - there, there at least you got a few chuckles yourself and from me too.

Edited and voted for reopen
Do people ever get banned on this.SE? Is that possible...

2:32 PM
@LCIII I don't know about IP blocking or anything like that, but you can certainly get your rep wiped and frozen on your account so you can't do much of anything with it.

@LCIII Yes, it is possible. It has happened. Keep this up, and you'll learn first hand.
@LCIII Yes, it is possible. It has happened. Keep this up, and you'll learn first hand.

Oh come onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn twas only in jest
And it fit the site standards ☺
@Flimzy Aren't 50 good questions and answers worth 1 snarky one? ☻

3:06 PM
@LCIII One snarky question, maybe... continuing to troll, and insist on re-opening, and insist that you're being serious when you clearly aren't... no
And no, it doesn't fit the site standards. It's asking about a made-up theological position. IOW, it's about "new theology", which is expressly off-topic.

3:17 PM
@Flimzy Oooooh
@Flimzy But did you wince...smirk...crack a smile...or

No.

"Emotionless Theologians...ASSEMBLLLLLLLLE!"

I did want to reach through the Internet and....

lol
say it
say it naow

:P

3:19 PM
@Flimzy Why you gotta be so rude?
@Flimzy Don't you know I'm human too?

My initial reaction was that you were having an honest problem understanding the English.
But then you said your native language is Spanish, and as a fluent Spanish speaker myself, I don't see how a native Spanish speaker would misunderstand that, either.
The Spanish construct is quite similar.

English really is my second language
My name is Luis Camacho. #latino

Then I re-examined your question, and saw that it was clearly contrived.

There are dad jokes. Then there are pastor jokes.

Your "joke" would have been better as a comment in chat, as Caleb suggested.

What is Jesus' favorite car brand?
Honda...why
Him and his disciples were together in one "accord"
badum CHING

But God prefers motorcycles.

What was the first sport ever invented?
Baseball...why

Because in Genesis he drove Adam and Eve out of the garden of Eden on his Fury

Gen 1:1: in the 'big inning'...
badum CHING

I've heard all of these
they're really really bad

3:23 PM
yes
yes you have
jayus

Where are you from?

There is no room humor in christianity
I live in the northern midwest of the states
But I was born in Florida
My mom's from cuba and my dad is from puerto Rico

there's a lot of room for humor. But making an entire post about a joke--and a really bad/weak one at that--isn't really called for. But more to the point, insisting... that's really what got to me.
cool

I think I was just testing the waters
consider the waters tested
I don't want to be banned
:-|

You won't be banned for one offence.

3:26 PM
:-D
go on

But I could tell Caleb was pretty perturbed.

but....
I think that's Caleb's default
I was waiting for him to show up
cool

There's a difference between a joke and trolling. And you pushed your joke well beyond that line.
I think that's the problem.
It may have started as a joke, but it ended as a troll

I suppose it did
Ah well. At least we all survived.

indeed.
I've posted jokes on the site before.
They weren't particularly well received, either... :P

Q: Matthew 20:16 Badges

FlimzyI think it would be appropriate on this site to add a new set of badges, based on Matthew 20:16. I propose the following badges be awarded for the following criteria: Deacon 100 accumulated down votes on answers Elder 100 accumulated down votes on questions with 50% or more being closed Apostl...

do tell
So Meta. Meta is the place to get dead-pan ridiculous.

I've had better luck with humor on other sites.

Q: Can we buy frequent flier miles with Unicoins?

FlimzyI think a great feature to add would be the option to buy frequent flier miles with Unicons. That's be great, right???

Although that question was asked on April 1, and in response to a SE-wide April 1 joke

"That's be great, right???" ~@Flimzy

5:57 PM
I'm ready for MakingFunOfChristians.SE
oh wait
that site already exists

@TRiG lol. They're all closed.
@LCIII So, at this point, one wonders if you've been drinking this morning.

1 hour later…
7:11 PM
@fredsbend They close them once the season is over. Then a new wave come in next Purim, hang around for a while, then get systematically closed again.
During Purim, everyone gets in on the fun, including the mods.

7:40 PM
@TRiG Cool. We did the Advent bounties last year, which seemed marginally successful in building community, however, it was not necessarily a humor based thing.
I guess Purim is a season of some kind. I don't know what it is.
I'm always troubled when I go to the Judaism site, because many of the members use all those Jewish terms expecting me to know what they mean. It is sometimes impossible to figure out an answer on that site without googling ten other things.

@fredsbend In exactly the same way we do that with Christian terms :)
(and the way they do on Islam.SE with Muslim terms)

@Flimzy Truth
