One question. Did God put in me the desire to do something good? "God put in your heart to do this". Is this correct? Is it biblical?

4:14 AM
@PaulVargas I think that many Christians would actually argue that most or all desires for good come from God.

@El'endiaStarman Then they will have no difficulty to show some verses of Scripture.

@PaulVargas "for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure." - Philippians 2:13 ESV - this is a scripture that is commonly interpreted along the lines of what you're looking for

This question appears to be off-topic because it is structured to be unanswerable. — David Stratton ♦ 15 mins ago
^^^ @David Stratton: What's up, dude? Are you steeped in the history of the Catholic Church?
Brasshat is correct. @David Stratton: Are you familiar with what Pope Innocent decreed in 405 A.D.? en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biblical_canon#Western_ChurchJim G. 5 mins ago
Since this is clearly a misunderstanding of the context, it's not answerable. Asking the if the Catholic Church is "still" behind the concept is like asking you if you've stopped beating our wife yet if you're in fact, never beat your wife. Answering "Yes" indicates the Church supports genocide. Answering "No" indicates the Church once did. Answering any other way is not addressing the original question and would be deleted as "not an answer". This post simply isn't answerable because it inherently assumes something that's simply not a valid assumption. — David Stratton ♦ 22 mins ago
^^^ The "...Beating our (sic) wife" analogy is a total straw man argument. Were you bidding for a "high-five" from a fellow moderator? Or did you simply fail to consider the canon of the Catholic Church? In other words, could you kindly delete this comment?

@JimG. I'm reading your Wikipedia link now.
Per that article, in 405 AD the pope decreed the canon closed.... I hardly see how that says "The Catholic Church endorses genocide". I'm aware of the crusades and the inquisitions, but not of any place or time in history where the Catholic Church ever endorsed genocide.
@JimG. If I'm seeing that wrong, please explain. I'm always open to discussion, and I readily admit it's possible I'm misunderstanding something here.
@JimG. And no, I wasn't looking for a high five, I was explaining my actions. If my actions were based on a misunderstanding, I'll be happy to delete the comment and reopen. The question might need to be edited to be more clear, though, if it was that easy to misread/misunderstand.
@JimG. - I just read brasshat's comment and I do agree with him.

@David Stratton: Ah, I see. In spite of the Crusades, I would never accuse the Catholic Church of endorsing genocide.
@David Stratton: Instead, my question was much more focused. The Biblical passage seemed to directly contradict the 6th Commandment, and for that reason, I wonder why it's still included in the Bible.

@JimG. I un-deleted. I also left my original comments and added a few more JUST IN CASE others make teh same mistake I did. If they see that it's already discussed, they may avoid making the same mistake.

@David Stratton: Thanks a lot, man. Much appreciated.

I just broke up an argument between two of my kids over whether or not Power Rangers is stupid. I ended the argument by saying "Whether or not it's stupid is a matter of opinion, and I do not want to listen to arguments over opinions!" Then I went to see what's new on C.SE and shook my head.
