@quartata mmm but being able to list pros and cons means you have a definition of somewhere else from which you can draw those
but the second-level bullet list looks like a good start
"Design Smokey to work with Metasmoke"...

@ArtOfCode .decode("utf-8").split("/")[-1] is a little nasty but not too bad

indeed

checkout was something I hadn't tried though. For the most part dulwich makes it pretty easy to make commits to specific branches so I didn't think about switching the branches directly

should Angus' points be put in the wiki perhaps?

@quartata but I'm not looking to commit to branches - I want the existing state of a branch

@ArtOfCode I really can't maintain the code after the conversation using that tool, the indentations are just to small, I really wish we have used tabs in the userscript repo so I could set them to a far bigger size, and the tool we use is also saying already existing functions, who's name I cannot change, have the wrong capitalization

@Ferrybig you can override the config if you want, add a package.json to your own subdirectory in the repo
the build script picks those up and uses the config in those as an override

as opposed to ugly hacks?
yeah, fair enough
However, the hacks in there make the migration files themselves... actually pretty clean

I think I've used stackedit.io in the past
@ArtOfCode Should we have a dedicated testing account for SmokeDetector-NG?
Would definitely be useful when we run it side by side with Smokey in the future
(+ I'm down a bot account)

could do, yeah

Can you make it and grant it write access to here and BBM
Don't want to farm rep for it

I'm sure BlackBerry Messenger died out years ago.

Especially considering when NG goes live it'll be on the real Smokey account

you on keybase, @quartata?

No and I'm not at home currently so I can't give you a public key

@quartata I've got invites
got access to email at the moment, @quartata?
@QPaysTaxes nah, don't worry. I set up a Smokey NG account :)

How do I generate a key pair

ssh-keygen not work?

Do I just generate one myself and put it then

10:13 PM
or OpenSSL must have a way
@quartata yeah

I'm on mobile though
Otherwise I would have just given you a public key
I've got lots

sure, it doesn't have to be now
but having one on keybase is useful anyway

You and your fancy Web 2.0 ways

nah, just general usefulness
lets you do things like encrypt those credentials I sent to Undo up there without even asking him for a public key

Just a bad question I think ^

@ArtOfCode Looks like Keybase will generate a key for you, just wasn't on the mobile site
I'll do that since I want a new key and I'm lazy
It's cool that it shows you that it's generating the semiprime
unfortunately it appears to be doing it in browser which is slow
@ArtOfCode ok I have a key on keybase now
I guess
Not sure how you're supposed to be able to get it
Oh it's just on my profile

10:51 PM
@quartata username quartata?

yes
OK the proof of GH identity is pretty clever

paste that into the decrypt prompt

If you're using keybase, use a locally generated key if you want to be safe.
Otherwise, you're effectively publishing your private key with a regular password protecting it.

I won't be using this key for anything else most likely so I don't care
@ArtOfCode you can delete this

that said, if you're really paranoid, like I am... yeah...

10:57 PM
I'm tempted to leave it there just because encryption, but yeah sure xD

fully offline key generation to a smartcard...

> ValueError: invalid literal for int() with base 10: 'users'

is it bad that i have a RPi dedicated to PGP key creation? lol

@ArtOfCode soooo maybe CE is broken
Or something weird is happening
Let me trying starting regular Smokey
(This is on Heroku but that shouldn't make a difference)

what's broken?

11:00 PM
@quartata clearly not, because
!!/alive

@ArtOfCode Yup

Yeah...
Well we're using the PyPI version
Smokey's using the one off Git
Odd. Getting an error about termcolor being missing, but I installed it...
Ohhh
It's using the wrong version of Python
because you're invoking it as a subprocess
and my aliases are weird
> [16:05:46] ValueError: invalid literal for int() with base 10: 'users'
From regular Smokey.
Let me try the Laff-O-Tron.

@ArtOfCode "files are waiting from artofcode" ?
@ArtOfCode I think the problem might be because you made the account on SO maybe?

I guess it could be
hang on
try now

nope

wait for caching

11:25 PM
that might help, actually, try again

caching
also, I added migrations and an is_report column to SmokeyMessage, @quartata, so feel free to go ahead with whatever you were planning for that branch
cd bin && python3 create_database.py should get you running; read the NG wiki for details on migrations

@ArtOfCode Got it

nice

@SmokeDetector-NG is this Undo

heh

Anyways still broken

11:56 PM
this is what happens when lots of people get creds
give it 24h

All right
But considering that first the Laff-O-Tron and now this account are broken I doubt it's a caching thing

Does LOT have accounts on all three chat sites?
It's clearly not a CE issue, because that's working juuuust fine for Smokey

Just SO and SE
not MSE

@quartata well there's your problem then

And classic Smokey didn't work on this new account either

11:58 PM
or are you trying to launch NG on it

NG

okay

NG doesn't work on Laff or this new account, classic Smokey doesn't work on the new account

shrug

Same error across all three

11:59 PM
no idea without being able to investigate
