Hi can some one please delete my post
http://superuser.com/questions/843115/xvid-for-home-theater

2:45 PM
@idavid Please don't flag posts like that. The flags are sent to all moderators on the network.
Very annoying.

sorry

Anyway, that post is already deleted. What else did you need?

i didn't mean to annoy anyone just wanted to remove the post so it wont get duplicated

@idavid I know you didn't :). Just letting you know that chat flags should only be used for reporting offensive content.
Duplicated where? Your post is deleted.

but when i was trying to post the right one it keep telling me its Duplicated until i added more info

2:49 PM
@idavid OK, take a step back and start from the beginning. What's "the right one"? Who's telling you it's duplicated?

this is the old one http://superuser.com/questions/843115/xvid-for-home-theater
and this is the new one that i want to keep it http://superuser.com/questions/843234/how-to-encode-xvid-using-ffmpeg-for-home-theater-dvd-player
and web site it was saying that
untill i added more info

But why are you posting it twice? Just edit the first one.
Never mind, you have already posted two now. It probably takes a little while for the old one to be removed from the system. Next time, please don't post a new question. Edit the original instead.

the title was also not ok so i wanted to delete the old completely then post the right one
one more thing

@idavid Yes, never do that. Just edit.

ok i will
did you see my profile

2:53 PM
I have now, yes.

it got some negative points because i made few mistakes

You meant your -4 in June of last year?

is there any way to remove them because it was my first and i never done it once more and i never will
yes

No, but the points are cumulative. They're not black marks or anything. Your reputation is the sum of all points, negative and positive. You now have way more positive than negative. Nobody has only positive points!

oh so it's not very very bad thing because i was worried about it

2:56 PM
@idavid Oh, not at all :) I have way, way more negative points than you do and I'm one of the top 20 or so users by reputation here.

oh ok :)

Everyone gets downvoted at some point.
One more thing. Next time, if you want to talk to a mod, just ping them. For example to ping someone called foo, you would write: @foo

mhm

The mods on Super User can be seen here:

ok so the post will be deleted by it self in some time right

2:58 PM
There is usually one of them in this room, pick one and @ him. For example, at the moment, you have JourneymanGeek and Oliver.
@idavid It is deleted. You will always be able to see it but it is colored and there is a big "Deleted" message.

mhm

The author (OP) of a post and users with >10k reputation and moderators can see deleted posts.

oh so when you put @ then name it make sound right
Well thanks a lot for replaying
next time i will use the @

@idavid You're very welcome.
One more thing @idavid. Please edit your question and explain what options you want. It's not very clear at the moment. I think you want to ask "What options should I use to get..." and not "How do I add these options".

the options are
Macroblocks: 40500 bps
VBV Buffer: 384kB
VBV Bitrate: 4854 kbps
B-Frame: 1

3:03 PM
OK, hang on, I'll edit it for you.

oh dangit i got it
so i will wait
@terdon one last thing i need to ask

Yes?

@terdon in case i need to ask some thing related to Linux is it ok to ping you here and give you the link to the question

@idavid No :) Just ask your question. You can also ask on Unix & Linux which is where I spend most of my time.
Just don't ask in both places, that is called cross-posting and we don't like that.
By the way, please always mention your OS. You have ffmpeg.exe yet your build info mentions gcc. Are you on Windows?
In general, for ffmpeg questions, you will probably get better answers here. For example, one of the mods (who is silently lurking at the moment :) ) is an expert on it.

yes it's windows i will add it
and was building dnscrypt plug in with gcc in linux
where i must post my problem

3:09 PM
You can post it on Super User or on Unix & Linux. For something like a dnscrypt plugin you will probably get better answers on Unix & Linux but the question would be on topic on both sites.

mhm
have you ever build the dnscrypt?

Nope.

Thanks a lot well i will go get thing needed to post here about my dnscrypt problem

@idavid OK, good luck!

:)
