@BESW Oh. Well, if they're solar powered...
@Pixie Owls!
I... think?

@doppelgreener That is my best guess. xD

must be bigger, yes:
they are owls! :D
.... there is a lobster in there XD

OH MY GOSH look at the little tadpoles in sweaters.

i just saw those!

12:09 AM
can I live here pls

ok maybe
the lobster's my favourite part

It is a very silly lobster. But I am in love with those tadpoles. Also there is a cute salamander with a ribbon its neck! Thank you for grabbing the large version.

@AlexMitan that was a blast to read about :D
@Pixie The lobster also has a couple of birds beside it just... staring at it.

It's just like "... what."
I love The Art of Animation though. Introduces me to so many cool artists. If I ever need inspiration for a thing...
Though as a warning to those who would wander its halls, it's NSFW relatively often.

12:25 AM
On the subject of awesome art...

@BESW do you think you could make a Dwarf mode for me? I am interested in what you think about it... also... brain going to sleep from endurance exercises this morning

@doppelgreener [fires up Modes doc]
[wanders over to Fate room for doodling]

1:26 AM

1:48 AM
[recovers from subsequently also going right to sleep]

1 hour later…
2:56 AM

Great session tonight. Final scene between myself and another hardcore story-roleplayer was... intense.

user61230
It was actually in 5e, too, which was cool and surprised me.

user61230
I was a cleric who had recently changed gods due to a vision of a specific scene and task I had been given.

user61230
I ended up in a battle of wits between myself and another player which easily lasted half an hour - trust in faith and religion versus trust in the concrete and known.

user61230
On a more concrete level, I wanted people to trust the vision I had, and they wanted people to trust a dragon-human that we'd met.

user61230
At the end of it, they tried turning into an octopus and fleeing with the staff that was the focus of the task.

user61230
6:50 AM
I reached out to touch it and summon the deity back. I successfully touched it, issued the invocation, and... nothing.

user61230
Leaving my character in a crisis of faith and the other character as a giant octopus a thousand feet underwater fleeing with the staff.

user61230
I think the ultimate consequence for my character is going to be that I lose the confidence in the source and ability of my magic, which I will consequently lose simply because I don't think I have it anymore and don't want to find out by testing it.

user61230
Also, I highly recommend watching this video.

Oh, wow.
That sounds intense and fantastic.

7:22 AM
Craaaaaaawling iiiiiin my skiiiin
These woooooounds they willlll not heeeeaaaaaaaal

> I will not turn into an octopus. It never helps.

Yeah, that session ended really well.

Copyright is magic. If you put a collection of words together in a specific order, lawyers will appear.
What's the word for a conjurer whose incantations summon legal specialists?

3 hours later…
11:57 AM
@BESW Vaarsuvius, lawyers are the only thing he's ever summoned.

12:31 PM
@BESW Legismancer. Summonser. Penzard.

1:04 PM
I like summonser.

Well I'll be damned if Secrets of Cats, a game about magical cats, doesn't have the simplest and most interesting different-scale-combat rules ever
"If you’re a cat attacking a mouse, then you’re two rungs higher on
the scale ladder. The mouse gets +2 to his defense roll, but you get
+4 to your Weapon rating if you hit him. If the mouse counterattacks,
he gets +2 to his attack roll, but you get +4 to your Armor rating if
he hits you."
@BESW I was looking for ship combat scale stuff... apparently, this could work really well, in my opinion... cats and mice
Maybe I can hack it up a bit, but either way, I don't know if it's gonna be necessary...
as in, if any extra mechanics will be necessary...

3:10 PM
Also, I found something quite brilliant! It's quite an inventive system, uses Fate dice, but the + and - simply represent different types of narrative resources, tied in with Dungeon World-like moves... also, all attacks inflict conditions.. it's quite intriguing!

@AlexMitan I enjoy Levi Kornelsen's work. Can't recall if I've looked through Shamblington or not, but his game prep methods interest me.

9:38 PM
Anyone know if Last Unicorn used a stock system for its star trek games about... 16 years ago?
oh wow, i can read this chat without it being zoomed in!
Pro tip... get an eye exam once a year

10:20 PM
I, a member of a labor union, work on a day celebrating labor unions. My non-union managers do not work this day. everyone I know who is in a labor union works this day, and no one I know who is NOT in a labor union does not
I dont even get holiday pay

11:04 PM
@BESW Ooh. I wonder if this was the originator of the trend. I had only seen the Sailor Moon version. Wherever it came from, it's hilarious.

liiiiieieeeeees
somehow still proving he is my favorite character without seeing any of the show,.....
both of those links are amazing, I am guessing this was like, clippings out of The Onion posted onto Star Wars and Sailor Moon respectively
very amusing

11:22 PM
@trogdor That is one of my favorite ones, haha.

I am glad then
I think I liked that one best

Some of the others also require a little more insight into the characters. That one stands on its own.

ok this one is great too

Haha, yes.

I actually do already know that she is the bookworm/smart one
not like I know anything in depth
I just happen to know stuff that you could easily find out

11:30 PM

so I happen to know that she is the right character to show with that quote
though I easily admit that some of the others go over my head
@BESW hee

@BESW This one is pretty great.
